The Grand Rapids Griffins, the Detroit Red Wings' top farm team, are making waves with their recent signings, particularly focusing on adding size to their roster.

The latest addition, Carson Bantle, a 6-foot-5, 207-pound winger from the Wisconsin Badgers, adds to an already imposing lineup. With the recent signings of Hunter Johannes (6-foot-3, 217 pounds) and Gabriel Seger (6-foot-4, 213 pounds), the Grand Rapids Griffins now boast five wingers who are 6-foot-3 or taller.
This shift towards larger players could be strategic, protecting the Red Wings' top prospects like Nate Danielson, Marco Kasper, and Carter Mazur. There's even Elmer Soderblom who helps with size. These towering wingers could create space for smaller, skilled players like Amadeus Lombardi to thrive. Although not all these newcomers might make it to the NHL, their presence in Grand Rapids could significantly impact the Detroit Red Wings' future.
Carson Bantle, originally drafted by the Arizona Coyotes in 2020, brings his skills and experience, having set career highs last season with the Wisconsin Badgers. His two-year contract with the Grand Rapids Griffins highlights the team's commitment to developing a physically dominant roster.
