The Detroit Red Wings have several prospects in the system that fans have varying views on and how they'll affect the future of the franchise.
And speaking of prospects, the Red Wings have officially signed a 3rd round pick from the 2024 NHL Entry Draft.
Forward Ondrej Becher, who was taken with the 80th overall pick this past year, has signed on the dotted line with the Red Wings and has been assigned to the Grand Rapids Griffins.
Becher had three points (1G, 2A) in 19 games with the Griffins this year while playing on a professional tryout agreement.
His scouting profile via Elite Prospects:
Upon the arrival of GM Steve Yzerman back to the organization in April 2019, he had a considerable task ahead of him - and part of that was building back up the prospect cupboard that Ken Holland had completely mismanaged and left bare.
Slowly but surely, he's build up the prospect pool through the NHL Entry Draft.
Among the names that Red Wings fans are banking on to play major rules in the future of the franchise include Nate Danielson, Carter Mazur, Axel Sandin-Pellikka, Sebastian Cossa, Trey Augustine, William Wallinder, and more.
Marco Kasper, Detroit's 1st round pick in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft, has already become a regular in the Red Wings lineup and has mostly played well despite only scoring twice in 32 games played.
