The Red Wings have a serious defenseman on their hands
The Red Wings will already be improving next season on their blueline before making any free agents signings.
Defenseman Simon Edvinsson is ready for to take the next step into the NHL and should be ready to go right away.
Edvinsson spent the majority of this season in the AHL and put up 30 points in 53 games as a 21 year-old defenseman. While he may not be that dominant offensively right off the bat, his defensive game surely will be.
The 21 year-old was taken 6th overall in the 2021 draft and was called up for 16 games in the NHL this season putting up 1 goal and 1 assist in that time.
This looks very promising for the Wings as he will be a big part of their future with players like Seider, Raymond and Larkin.
