GM reveals who he would've picked if Iginla and Demidov were both available
The Utah hockey team has made a surprising statement regarding Ivan Demidov and the Montreal Canadiens.
Utah's general manager, Bill Armstrong, confirmed on TSN that they would have taken Tij Iginla over Demidov at the 6th spot. Armstrong expressed their excitement when the Canadiens chose Demidov, allowing Utah to secure Iginla, whom they highly valued for his intensity and competitive nature.
While it's interesting to consider what might have been, Canadiens fans can be pleased with securing a potential future NHL star in Demidov. If Montreal had chosen Zeev Buium, as some rumors suggested, it would have changed the draft landscape significantly, potentially benefiting the Senators.
