As the Detroit Red Wings continue their push to re-enter the playoff picture, GM Steve Yzerman may look to make some moves during the 2024-25 season.

Two players who could be on the move are Justin Holl and Ville Husso.
Justin Holl
Justin Holl's situation is challenging. Signed to a three-year, $3.4 million AAV deal last summer, Justin Holl quickly found himself out of favor, becoming a healthy scratch for much of the season.
Moving Justin Holl will be difficult, as his contract has two years remaining and a 12-team no-trade clause. Any trade involving him will likely require Steve Yzerman to swap bad contracts or add a significant sweetener to make the deal palatable for another team.
Ville Husso
Ville Husso's future in Detroit seems uncertain, especially after the Red Wings signed Cam Talbot to a two-year deal. Ville Husso's performance has been inconsistent, and injuries have hampered his ability to solidify his role as a reliable starter.
With one year left on his contract at $4.75 million and a modified 10-team no-trade clause, Ville Husso could be a candidate for a mid-season trade if Steve Yzerman finds a suitable partner. The presence of Alex Lyon and Jack Campbell gives the Detroit Red Wings some flexibility in goal. Still, Ville Husso's departure might be necessary to clear up the logjam and potentially bring in assets or cap space.
As the season progresses, Steve Yzerman's willingness to be aggressive on the trade market could see these players move, especially if the team wants to make a strong playoff push or build further for the future.
