Hypothetical trade between Calgary Flames and Detroit Red Wings that would bring elite forward
The Detroit Red Wings are eyeing a playoff return, and one trade proposal could help boost their offense by acquiring Yegor Sharangovich from the Calgary Flames.
Using PuckPedia's PuckGM tool, a fan suggested a deal where Detroit trades top prospect Nate Danielson, goalie Ville Husso, and a 2025 second-round pick for Sharangovich.
Sharangovich, 26, had a solid 2023-24 season with 59 points (31 goals, 28 assists) in 82 games. With six years left on his contract, he'd be a valuable addition to Detroit's young core.
For Calgary, Danielson is the key asset. The 2023 ninth-overall pick is a promising forward, and Husso, though blocked by Detroit's recent goalie additions, could compete for the Flames' net.
While Detroit made several offseason moves, including signing Patrick Kane and Vladimir Tarasenko, GM Steve Yzerman believes this revamped roster can finally end the team's eight-year playoff drought. The Red Wings will kick off their 2024-25 season on October 10 against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
