As if the Detroit Red Wings losing their 6th of their last 7 games wasn't bad enough, they're now (again) going to be without the only player from last night's game who came to play from start to finish.
Goaltender Cam Talbot, who did everything possible to keep the Red Wings in the game by stopping the 1st 27 shots he faced (while his teammates managed just 11 at that point), re-tweaked his injury during today's practice.
Per Max Bultman of The Athletic, Talbot is unavailable for tomorrow's game against the Toronto Maple Leafs (7:00 PM, FanDuel Sports Detroit, 97.1 The Ticket) and Ville Husso will get the start.
Don't be surprised to see Sebastian Cossa, who picked up his 1st career NHL win on Monday before being promptly returned to the AHL, to make his way back up to the Red Wings.
Talbot can be excused for feeling frustrated over the lack of offensive support from the rest of his teammates during last night's game.
At one point last night, he stopped the first 27 shots fired at him by the Flyers, including several odd-man rushes and more than a few breakaway attempts.
He was finally beaten when Scott Laughton fired a slap-shot past his glove on what seemed like the dozenth Flyers breakaway attempt of the game; Laughton then scored three more times for his 1st career four-goal performance.
