Just under two years ago, he stole hearts in Hockeytown and went viral across the world.
And now, he's back!
The young Detroit Red Wings fan named George was shown on the video screen at Little Caesars Arena to roaring approval from the sellout crowd, and the tradition of cheering him, booing fans of the opposition when the camera panned to them, and resuming cheers when it returned to George was back on!
He first went viral during a game against the Vancouver Canucks in February of 2023 when cameras caught George and his family along with a homemade sign that read, «It's my first game».
According to his mother Chelsea Miller, George was initially shy about his sudden fame but soon grew to embrace it.
She also said that Detroit Red Wings fans treated him like a celebrity in the Little Caesars Arena concourses, asking to pose with him for photos and even getting his autograph.
George was then invited to be a special guest of the Red Wings at the 2023 NHL Awards show in Toronto, and he got the celebrity treatment by walking the red carpet!
While the outcome of the game last night wasn't what George and other Red Wings fans wanted, a 2-1 loss to the Bruins, they were still thrilled to welcome him and his family back to Little Caesars Arena.
You can bet that we'll be seeing George again soon!
