Both Cam Talbot and Alex Lyon are dealing with injuries; with Ville Husso the lone goaltender on the roster, could highly-regarded prospect Sebastian Cossa soon make his NHL debut?

The Detroit Red Wings were already playing without goaltender Alex Lyon, who was injured during practice last week; they called up Ville Husso from the AHL in his stead.

Even worse now is the fact that Cam Talbot, who just appeared in his 500th career NHL game on Friday, was hurt during today's 5-4 overtime loss against the Vancouver Canucks and did not return.

The team described the issue as being a lower body injury, and ruled him out for the remainder of the afternoon.

Husso made 18 saves in relief of Talbot, but still surrendered three goals to former Red Wing Pius Sutter, Erik Brannstrom, and Jake DeBrusk in overtime

Red Wings coach didn't have an immediate report or assessment on Talbot's condition or if he'd be able to play Tuesday against the Boston Bruins.

No report yet, but it was obviously lower body and he had to pull himself from the game, so we'll get a better feel probably later tonight into tomorrow.

With the unknown status of goaltender Jack Campbell, who entered himself in the NHLPA Player Assistance Program, there stands a chance that the Red Wings could call up Round 1 2021 Draft pick Sebastian Cossa for his first taste of real NHL action.

As far as the game-winning goal from DeBrusk is concerned, Lalonde chalked it up to a good release by the first-year Canucks forward to complete the hat trick.

Easy switch and they scored on a pretty good shot.

It happens all the time on three-on-three (the switch play) and we defended it fairly well, kept it for distance. But it was a pretty good shot.

Should the Red Wings call up Sebastian Cossa if Cam Talbot can't make their upcoming road trip?
