Jacob Trouba comments the rumors of a trade to the Detroit Red Wings during training camp
New York Rangers defenseman Jacob Trouba addressed the recent trade rumors linking him to the Detroit Red Wings, clarifying that there is "no animosity" toward the Rangers organization.
Reports had circulated that Rangers GM Chris Drury had a potential trade deal with the Red Wings, but it ultimately fell through due to Trouba's no-trade clause, which included Detroit as one of the teams he wouldn't move to.
Trouba, who is the team captain, downplayed the situation during training camp, stating,
«It's part of the business of hockey.»
He emphasized that such rumors are a normal aspect of professional sports, particularly in the NHL, where player movement is common.
While the trade speculation sparked interest among fans, Trouba appears fully committed to the Rangers. The team continues preparations for the upcoming season, and there is no evident tension between him and management.
