Florida Panthers Coach Paul Maurice has provided an update on forward Matthew Tkachuk's injury after the 4 Nations-Face Off tournament.

Matthew Tkachuk wasn't able to play a full game due to a lingering injury that has kept him from contributing to Team USA significantly.
His inability to contribute would be felt, as Team USA would lose the 4 Nations Face-Off Championship to Canada.
Brady Tkachuk would give an update on Matthew's condition after the game, with a solemn statement.
"Obviously he battles through absolutely everything, and, yeah, I don't think it's too good. I guess we'll have to wait and see what ends up happening, but I know he was really disappointed."
Now, after he limped out of TD Garden last night, the situation has degraded and looks bleak.
However, Panthers Head Coach Paul Maurice would give us a vital update on his timetable for return.
«Give him day to day, and then I'll give you a pretty good update in the next couple days."

Unfortunately for the Panthers, and Tkachuk, the injury he suffered seems like it could be long-term. Given the 'i don't think it's too good' status by his head coach.
«I'll probably have a better handle on it Saturday, but not a final one. My expectation is that we're gonna give him some rest no matter what, and then we'll get a handle on it.»

An issue the Panthers shouldn't have trouble dealing with as the Panthers roster is loaded with top-end talent, thanks to GM Bill Zito.
The good news is the Panthers won't miss Matthew Tkachuk long-term, as opposed to say the Bruins and Charlie McAvoy who has no timetable of return.
Tkachuk helped grow the game of hockey by not only winning a Stanley Cup with the Panthers, but becoming a media personality in the NHL, and earning the nickname "Bash Brother" along with his sibling Brady who was terrorizing the tournament at the start.
