Even though it was a disappointing loss for Dylan Larkin and the Americans in the 4 Nations Faceoff, his postgame message caught the eye of Connor Bedard.

Detroit Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin is returning to work with his NHL club after representing the Americans in the 4 Nations Faceoff.
Despite falling heartbreakingly in last night's 3-2 OT loss to Canada, Larkin had a message of hope for American hockey in the future with specific regard to the 2026 Winter Olympic Games.
There is something to look forward to with this group, which is great. That's the big one. And I know that it's a little bit of a different tournament, different rules, but we really feel like we can play any kind of game on any kind of surface and anywhere against anyone.

I think guys are at home watching this and I hope they are wanting a piece of this. They got to go to the world championships and prove themselves and play for their country. We got to start winning that tournament. I think that's where Canada, those guys go and they play. That's where it starts. Pride for your country. Pride for your flag. Putting that crest on and going out for games is an unbelievable feeling.

Larkin's words caught the attention of Chicago Blackhawks forward Connor Bedard, a Canadian who has the chance to play for his nation in the aforementioned future Olympics.
Bedard "liked" Larkin's message on his Instagram account:

Dylan Larkin scored the American game winning goal in Saturday night's win

Both the Americans and Canadians split their series in the 4 Nations Faceoff; while the Canadians took home the title with last night's win, the Americans struck the 1st blow with a 3-1 win on Saturday night in Montreal.
It was Larkin who scored the game winner in the 2nd period, propelling his team to the win.
