The Red Wings were short several players during yesterday's practice, including captain Dylan Larkin, forward Marco Kasper, and goaltender Cam Talbot.
Today, they released new line combinations during their practice, and it featured the returns of both Larkin and Kasper; Talbot remains sidelined with his injury but did hit the ice.
Coach Derek Lalonde has elevated Andrew Copp to the second line pairing alongside Alex DeBrincat and Patrick Kane, while Vladimir Tarasenko replaced Michael Rasmussen on the top line; he previously skated on line one during Saturday's 4-2 win over the Maple Leafs.
Per MLive's Ansar Khan, the line combinations Detroit deployed today are as follows:
Tarasenko - Larkin - Raymond
DeBrincat - Copp - Kane
Rasmussen - Compher - Motte
Veleno - Kasper - Berggren
Fischer
Edvinsson - Seider
Chiarot - Petry
Johansson/Gustafsson - Holl
Ville Husso got the majority of the work, indicating he's likely in line to start tomorrow against the Flyers (7:00 PM, FanDuel Sports Detroit, 97.1 The Ticket).
The power play line combinations are as follows:
1. Compher (net front), Larkin (bumper), Raymond-Kasper (flanks), Seider (point).
2. Rasmussen/Copp (alternating), DeBrincat (bumper), Tarasenko-Kane (flanks), Gustafsson (point).
Per Khan, Husso took the starting reps and is in line to play tomorrow against the Flyers at Little Caesars Arena (7:00 PM, FanDuel Sports Detroit, 97.1 The Ticket).
While Cam Talbot was back at practice today, his status for tomorrow's game against the Flyers isn't immediately known.
Talbot was one of the only Red Wings players to put forth a full-game effort in last week's loss against the Flyers, stopping all 27 shots before he was finally victimized late in the 2nd period on what would be the first of a 4-goal performance from Scott Laughton.
At the same time, his teammates had only managed 11 shots at the time of Philadelphia's opening goal.
