Former Detroit Red Wings star Pavel Datsyuk is still adjusting to his Hockey Hall of Fame induction. He was also asked if he wanted to stay with the team in a new role.
«I'm still recognizing I'm there and it's hard to believe,» he said. «Of course, I feel like I'm a lucky boy.»
Datsyuk wishes his former teammate Henrik Zetterberg could join him in the Hall of Fame.
«I would love to see him (get inducted), too,» Datsyuk said.
Despite their legendary careers, neither Datsyuk nor Zetterberg is interested in joining the Red Wings' hockey operations department. Datsyuk currently serves as a development coach for Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg in the KHL and recently was a guest instructor at the Red Wings development camp.
«I miss Detroit but now I have a job, I'm a hockey player development back at home,» Datsyuk explained. He prioritizes spending time with his family, stating, «I want to stay with my family, spend more time at home.»
