Red Wings coach Todd McLellan issued a bold declaration as the team prepares to resume their schedule from the 4 Nations Faceoff break.

The Detroit Red Wings continue preparations to get back into the swing of things in the NHL schedule once the 4 Nations Faceoff is complete.
They host the Minnesota Wild on Saturday afternoon at Little Caesars Arena (12:30 PM, ABC, ESPN, 97.1 The Ticket).
Coach Todd McLellan, who has put himself firmly into the discussion for the Jack Adams Trophy as the NHL's top coach thanks to what he's been able to accomplish since returning to the club on December 26, had a firm declaration about the remainder of the Red Wings' schedule.
The Red Wings are about to discover exactly who they are when it comes to crunch time:
Who are we? That's going to get answered in the next 27 games. Are we October to December or are we December to February? Who are we? It's not going to be easy or perfect. Are we a playoff team? Are we close to a playoff team? Are we a distant [playoff team]? We got to figure all this out.

Part of that is the belief system we talked about, trying to develop an identity and playing towards it.
Clearly, McLellan has introduced a new system of belief amongst his players that has paid strong dividends.

Red Wings players have fully endorsed Todd McLellan's system

Before the break, the Red Wings players made it clear that they're fully buying in to McLellan's new system of play that has resulted in their current occupation of a Wild Card postseason spot.
