The Grand Rapids Griffins have released a critical health update on top Red Wings prospect Amadeus Lombardi, who has been absent since early December.

While fans of the Detroit Red Wings have gotten a good glimpse at how bright the future can be thanks to the contributions of young players like Simon Edvinsson and Marco Kasper, another player they could soon see make his way to the NHL is Amadeus Lombardi.
Taken in the 4th round of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft, Lombardi had 15 points (9G, 6A) in 20 games with the Grand Rapids Griffins before getting hurt in early December.
He was hurt after a pile up near the net on December 1 and skated to the bench right away.
The good news is that he's expected to be back for the Griffins in short order:
For those unfamiliar with his skillset, take a look at his scouting profile via Elite Prospects :
Lombardi's game is one of speed and skill. As he races defenders along the perimeter, he looks for teammates on the inside. He connects with backhand and forehand passes under or over defenders' sticks without much windup. If a pass isn't an option, he beats defenders with a combination of handling skill and well-conceived setups. He puts the puck into a defender's space, waits for the poke, then chips the puck under their stick or pulls it around - and he's confident making these plays off the backhand and under heavy pressure.

Red Wings fans, what do you think the ceiling of Lombardi's eventual NHL career with the Red Wings will be?
