The annual Hockeytown tradition of gathering in downtown Detroit to watch the Detroit Red Wings hit the ice continues tonight, as the Red Wings bring in the Pittsburgh Penguins to Little Caesars Arena (8:00 PM, FanDuel Sports Detroit, 97.1 The Ticket).
It will mark the 2nd time that the Penguins have made an appearance in Detroit this year, and the Red Wings hope that this time around goes much better than their embarrassing 6-3 loss on October 10.
Among the notable performances in the October 10 loss for the Red Wings included a pair of goals from Alex DeBrincat along with Vladimir Tarasenko's 1st goal in a Red Wings sweater.
Unfortunately, it was a subpar night for goaltender Ville Husso, who allowed several soft goals before being pulled and replaced with Cam Talbot.
The Red Wing and Penguins have also played at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, a 3-2 overtime victory for Detroit on November 13 after Simon Edvinsson scored his 1st career OT goal:
Via Ansar Khan of MLive, the Red Wings are keeping the same line combinations that earned them a 4-2 win over the Washington Capitals earlier in the week:
Veleno - Larkin - Raymond
DeBrincat - Copp - Kane
Berggren - Compher - Tarasenko
Rasmussen - Kasper - Motte/Fischer
Chiarot - Seider
Edvinsson - Petry
Gustafsson - Holl
It's time to ring in the New Year and do it the right way by picking up the 2nd win over th Penguins!
