The NHL announced yesterday that the salary cap will be going to 5.4% to $88 million which helps the Red Wings for their busy off-season.

The Red Wings will now have $29,367,361 million in cap space this summer which is a massive plus since they have multiple stars to re-sign such as Moritz Seider and Lucas Raymond.

The Wings also have other free agents such as James Reimer, Shayne Gostisbehere, Christian Fischer, Daniel Sprong, Patrick Kane, and David Perron that they ill be looking to re-sign as well.

The Red Wings presently have three restricted free agents in Moritz Seider, Lucas Raymond, and Joe Veleno and six unrestricted free agents in James Reimer, Shayne Gostisbehere, Christian Fischer, Daniel Sprong, Patrick Kane, and David Perron.

Clearly this raise in salary cap is a huge benefit for Yzerman and the Wings as they have a lot of player to sign this summer.
