The Red Wings have a clear #1 choice at 15th overall
The Red Wings recently found out that they have the 15th overall pick at this year's NHL draft in Vegas.
According to insider Craig Button, the Wings should look at picking Michael Brandsegg-Nygard who currently plays in Sweden's second division. The young forward played for Mora IK and put up 18 points in 41 games this season as a 17 year old.
Button believes who be a great fit for the Wings as he a solid player on both ends of the ice and always plays hard, pushing to put his team is the best situation possible.
«He is a hard driving winger,» Button said. «He wants to make a difference in the game.»
The scouting consensus on Brandsegg-Nygard is that he has a chance to be a top six forward. He is already engaged defensively. He has some bite to his game and the Red Wings are looking for players with push-back. - Allen
There are some seriously talented players at this year's upcoming draft and while the Wings do not have a lottery pick, they have some solid options with the 15th pick.
