While Larkin and Raymond topped 30 goals last season, the others haven't reached that milestone in some time, raising questions about their ability to return to peak form.
Patrick Kane: Kane scored 20 goals in 50 games with the Red Wings last season, translating to a 33-goal pace over a full 82-game season. Despite a strong showing, his last 30-goal season was in 2019-20, and his goal totals over the past four seasons have averaged around 20.5 goals per year.
Alex DeBrincat: DeBrincat has hit 27 goals in the past two seasons, well below his career average of 15.5% shooting percentage. Despite this, he has two 41-goal seasons on his resume and could be poised to break the 30-goal mark again if he regains his shooting touch.
Vladimir Tarasenko: With six 30-goal seasons, including a career-high 40 in 2015-16, Tarasenko's recent output has been more modest: 18 goals in 2022-23 and 23 in 2023-24. At this stage, 25 goals would be a solid season for him.
The Red Wings' success in ending their eight-season playoff drought could hinge on whether these veterans can rediscover their scoring touch and contribute significantly.
