Wings legend expresses disappointment with Sweden
Sweden lost to Czechia in the semi finals on the IIHF tournament and Red Wings legend Nicklas Lidstrom spoke of how disappointed he was.
Lidstrom was at the game and says it was disappointing to watch especially surrounded by Czech fans.
«It feels, it does,» Lidstrom admitted to Swedish website Aftonbladet.se. «Although you sit and watch the players on both teams, you want Sweden to succeed.
«It's sad that it turned out the way it did, that it fell apart so much in the second period. We failed to stop the Czechs when they came.
«You feel disappointment, you do. It was not fun to watch, especially when you sit with a lot of Czechs in the stands.»
Sweden did lose to the tournament champions 7-3 but were able to leave the tournament with their heads held high as they beat Canada 4-2 for the Bronze medal.
