Alex Ovechkin asks for big trades from his GM
Washington Capitals GM Brian MacLellan has received an extraordinary request from Alex Ovechkin: to trade for Sidney Crosby and Connor McDavid.
This comes after an active free agency period where the Capitals signed Andrew Mangiapane and Pierre-Luc Dubois. Ovechkin's desire to team up with Crosby and McDavid stems from his ambition to break Wayne Gretzky's goal record.
Ovechkin's history of intense battles with Crosby makes this request even more intriguing. The addition of McDavid would significantly bolster the Capitals' offense. The Rangers swept the Capitals in the playoffs, which has evidently fueled Ovechkin's push for these blockbuster trades. Now, the pressure is on MacLellan to fulfill his captain's ambitious request.
