Canada forward and Boston Bruins captain Brad Marchand is now speaking out against anyone booing the American national anthem.

The trend of the American national anthem being booed by pockets of fans in Canadian cities continued last night before the 6-1 US victory over Finland in the 4 Nations Faceoff.
Despite a request from the public address announcer at Bell Centre in Montreal for fans to remain respectful of both anthems, a smattering of booing was heard during the performance of "The Star Spangled Banner".
American forward Matthew Tkachuk and coach Mike Sullivan have already responded to the booing, and now Canadian forward and Boston Bruins captain Brad Marchand is addressing the issue.
Marchand is no fan of the booing, viewing it as disrepectful.
I still think in those moments with the anthem, there should not be any of that. We're here to play a hockey game. They can boo all they want during the games. The anthems should be off-limits. Those should be a moment to show respect for the veterans and the millions and millions of people that sacrificed their lives so we could have freedom and the luxury to play a hockey game.

They should not be booing the Americans during that anthem. They have nothing to do with the political things that are going on. I do feel bad for those guys in that moment. I don't think it's right. But those guys showed it last night, they're not going to be deterred because of being booed. They're here to play for keeps.

American forward Matthew Tkachuk made it clear he's no fan of the booing

Matthew Tkachuk, who scored twice as part of the 6-1 US win over Finland, made it clear that he doesn't like the booing during the American anthem.
He had a brief but concise take on the controversial booing:
I don't like it. And that's all I've got.
