Awful news for Canada despite their OT win in last night's 4 Nations Faceoff opener, as they'll now be short one of their top defensemen and can't replace him.

Canada may have earned an exciting 4-3 OT win over Sweden in last night's 4 Nations Faceoff opener, but it's come at a brutal cost.
Defenseman Shea Theodore, one of the top blue liners for Canada and for the Vegas Golden Knights, departed the game with an injury. The latest update on his condition isn't good.
Per reports, Theodore is now considered "week-to-week" with his injury, which means that he'll miss the remainder of the 4 Nations Faceoff.
Shea Theodore is expected to be out week-to-week due to the upper-body injury he sustained at the 4Nations Face-Off.
Canada coach Jon Cooper, who is the longest-tenured NHL coach with the Tampa Bay Lightning, described the injury to Theodore as a "brutal blow".
That's a big blow. What a kid, and he only got to play six minutes. It's heartbreaking for the kid. And he was the first one there at the door high-fiving everybody when we came off. It's a tough one to swallow because you just know how much it means. I guess in hindsight he got to touch the ice and get some time in there.

But for us, it was tough because you talk about the speed in that game and we had to fight through the last 50 minutes with five defensemen. That's a grind.

Red Wings forward Lucas Raymond was named the 3rd star for Sweden vs. Canada

Despite losing 4-3 in OT to Canada, Detroit Red Wings forward Lucas Raymond was named the 3rd Star of the Game for Sweden.
He had a pair of assists, including on Sweden's 1st goal after he stole the puck from defenseman Drew Doughty.
