After 17 seasons in the NHL, Kyle Okposo has officially retired at the age of 36, finishing his career on the highest note-a Stanley Cup win.

Drafted 7th overall by the New York Islanders in 2006, Okposo accumulated 614 points in 1,051 games, playing nine seasons with the Islanders before joining the Buffalo Sabres. He ended his career with the Florida Panthers after being traded at the deadline, which allowed him to capture his first Stanley Cup.

In his farewell message, Kyle Okposo expressed gratitude to fans, teammates, and the hockey community, while also hinting at his future involvement in the sport. He reflected on his 30-year hockey journey, calling it an incredible experience and sharing his optimism about contributing to the game in new ways as it continues to evolve.
