The Detroit Red Wings are back to work after a tough one-goal loss to the Boston Bruins at Little Caesars Arena.
But there were several noticeable absences from the ice at their practice facility.
MLive's Ansar Khan reports that both Michael Rasmussen and Patrick Kane were absent after dealing with upper-body issues:
Khan also reported that Rasmussen may have been absent due to the heavy hit that he took last night against the Bruins.
Rasmussen has scored only three times; the same goes for Kane.
They skated with the following lines:
Vladimir Tarasenko-Dylan Larkin-Lucas Raymond
Alex DeBrincat-Marco Kasper-Jonatan Berggren
Joe Veleno-J.T. Compher-Christian Fischer
Tyler Motte-Andrew Copp-Christian Fischer
Simon Edvinsson-Moritz Seider
Ben Chiarot-Jeff Petry
Albert Johansson-Erik Gustafsson
Justin Holl
Alex Lyon, who has won both games that he's played in against the Islanders while allowing only one combined goal, is expected to get the start for tomorrow's game at UBS Arena (7:30 PM, FanDuel Sports Detroit, 97.1 The Ticket).
Joe Veleno will also return to the lineup after being designated a healthy scratch for the last two games; he only has one goal and one assist.
Following last night's loss, the Detroit Red Wings are once again in a precarious position in their division with the gap widening between Detroit and Boston.
At sixth place in the Atlantic, the Red Wings would be outside of a postseason spot if it were to begin this week.
