Vancouver Canucks forward Elias Pettersson has been rumoured to be on the trading block, and now details of an alleged deal that was in the works have been leaked.

The Vancouver Canucks have been rumoured to be shopping star forward Elias Pettersson for weeks now, especially after reports of an alleged rift between him and fellow forward J.T. Miller.

Canucks writer Rob Simpson recently teased Pettersson playing with the Detroit Red Wings on a line with fellow Swedish forward Lucas Raymond:

I've often pictured #Canucks centre Elias Pettersson in a Red Wings sweater. #LGRW Could play on a line with Lucas Raymond.

And now, details of an alleged deal that was in place to send Pettersson to the Eastern Conference have leaked.

Per Marco Normandin, the Canucks were offered a considerable package from the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for Pettersson, a deal that was reportedly turned down.

The alleged deal was as follows:

To Carolina: Elias Pettersson

To Vancouver: Martin Necas, Brett Pesce, draft pick

Canucks general manager Patrik Allein has also recently called out Pettersson for what he sees as a lack of maturity.

It comes back to expectations and preparation, how you prepare yourself. I don't believe that he was aware of just how hard it was going to be. Just because you achieve one thing to get a long-term extension life just gets harder. You haven't really accomplished anything.

You're not even halfway there (to winning a Stanley Cup). And then obviously the mental part comes in there, too, and suddenly you feel the pressure.
