The Detroit Red Wings knew that they had a good one when they selected local product Dylan Larkin with the 15th pick in the 2014 National Hockey League Draft.
And in his 10th season, he's picked up a major career milestone.
With his assist on teammate Lucas Raymond's goal during the first period of tonight's game against the Boston Bruins, he's now reached 300 career assists.
While offensive production has been an issue for the Red Wings in the early goings of the year, Larkin has had no difficulty finding the back of the net.
Entering tonight's game, he has 11 goals and is on pace to reach a career-high 47.
So far, he's in line with his stated goal before the season of reaching a new level and trying to "dominate".
Larkin reached 33 goals scored in 68 games last year, but he was absent for multiple stretches, including in December after suffering a scary injury against the Ottawa Senators.
Larkin also missed a stretch in the month of March; the Detroit Red Wings lost most of the games he was unavailable for, highlighting his importance to the team.
He underwent surgery during the summer, and so far (knock on wood) has been healthy this season.
Congratulations to Detroit Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin on the milestone, and we can't wait for many more!
