Following the Detroit Red Wings flopping their past three games in a row, their decision to improvise quickly was surely taken, as today it is confirmed that their forward, Christian Fischer, was put on waivers and that the organization is reportedly bringing up Grand Rapids' Carter Mazur to replace him.

The Red Wings have unfortunately been knocked out of their wildcard spot following 2-1 loss against the Carolina Hurricanes last night, but luckily still remain tied with the New York Rangers.
With the one and only exception being a playoff spot, it seems as though the Wings are going to do everything in their power to pursue this outcome.
Starting off with putting their forward, Christian Fischer, on waivers and kicking off the remainder of the season with their top prospect, Carter Mazur.

Christian Fischer on Waivers, Carter Mazur Called-up from Grand Rapids

Christian Fischer has been the odd man out for Detroit this season so far. Although Fischer stands at a recorded 522 games played throughout his career, with 137 points on 62 goals and 55 assists, this season the veteran has had a boring record of 45 games played with just seven points on six goals and 20 assists.
Despite this veterans decent stats, the Red Wings organization can't afford anything less than remarkable.
This is where Carter Mazur comes into play.
This young star has accumulated a good reputation over the years, being drafted to the Red Wings as 70th overall pick in 2021, Mazur continues to outshine and prove his value to this organization.
His hard dedication is now paying off.
Mazur sits at a whopping 15 points on eight goals and seven assists this season with only 20 games played. Due to an unforeseen injury, the young player was unavailable for quite some time but did not resist to show what he's capable of.
Despite the excitement involved in this trade, the Detroit Red Wings position for the playoffs is still yet to be determined.
However, we can hope this adjustment will be reflected when the Red Wings surpass the New York Rangers.
