Fisher Scott, a Colorado native and lifelong Colorado Avalanche fan, is embracing a new challenge as a prospect with the Detroit Red Wings.

Drafted in the seventh round (No. 208) of the 2024 NHL Draft, Scott will play for Colorado College this winter, just a few hours from his hometown of Carbondale.
Scott, who previously played for the Fighting Saints, stepped up as an assistant captain last season and significantly improved his offensive game, notching 33 points in 61 games compared to just 13 points the year before. Despite his offensive growth, Scott sees himself primarily as a defensive defenseman, trusted in every situation.
His draft journey was notable; while he was a late-round pick in the NHL Draft, he was a 15th-round selection in the USHL Draft a few years ago. The Red Wings' US scout was enthusiastic about Scott, leading to his selection.
Scott recently attended the Red Wings' development camp and is excited about the future, including his connection to the area through coach Evan Dixon and teammate Brady Cleveland. He plans to major in business while continuing to develop his hockey skills at Colorado College.
