Jonatan Berggren had an amazing performance for the Grand Rapids Griffins, but a scoring change by an AHL official overturned his hat trick into a two-goal game plus an assist.

Berggren's efforts were important to tie the playoff series against the Milwaukee Admirals but even with his great skills, the Griffins lost Game 5 on Sunday and are now eliminated from the Calder Cup. Even if the Detroit Red Wings knows that his offensive skills are good, they are evaluating if he can contribute effectively in other areas of the game.

Other info on Red Wings :

Jakob Vrana, former Red Wings player has been really open talking about his struggles with addiction, even discussing the end of his time with Detroit. Additionally, Nate Danielson didn't play Game 4 for the Griffins, facing the challenges of his first pro games in a demanding AHL playoff series.

Defenseman Simon Edvinsson left the last minutes of Game 4 due to an undisclosed injury, with coach Dan Watson having hope that this is a minor issue. Meanwhile, Lucas Raymond's team will compete for the bronze medal against Canada at the World Championships after losing to Czechia in the semifinal.

Detroit GM Steve Yzerman, who saw Berggren's impactful game in Grand Rapids, will need to decide Berggren's role in the Red Wings' plans, as he will require to go through waivers to be sent down in the AHL next season.
