The Red Wings are considering Linus Ullmark from the Bruins to help their goaltending depth. Ullmark had quite a season with a record of 22 wins, 10 losses and 7 overtime losses, with a goals-against average (GAA) of 2.55 and a save percentage of .915.

According to reports from Elliotte Friedman, Detroit is interested in Ullmark, who has one year left on his contract with a cap hit of $5 million. However, Red Wings GM Steve Yzerman is cautious and prefers to negotiate an extension with Ullmark before making any moves. This makes sense since he wants stability and losing after one season would not bring the stability he wants.

The Bruins have Jeremy Swayman who is emerging as a solid goalie and they will surely be looking to move Ullmark to address other needs in their roster, possibly on the forward lines.

The trade talks might heat up after July 1st when Ullmark becomes eligible to sign an extension. It's also noted that Ullmark blocked a trade to the LA Kings, but it's unclear if the Red Wings are on his limited no-trade list.

For Red Wings fans, this potential move could be a significant upgrade in goal, adding depth and stability heading into the upcoming season. It's definitely a situation worth keeping an eye on as the offseason approaches.
