Detroit Red Wings rookie Dominik Shine picked up his 1st NHL point in last night's 3-1 victory over the Flames, and he talked about what it meant to him.
The Detroit Red Wings have now won 5 consecutive games after their 3-1 victory over the Calgary Flames on Saturday night.
Dylan Larkin, Simon Edvinsson and Andrew Copp (empty net) scored for the Red Wings, who got another solid start from goaltender Cam Talbot as part of the win.
It was also a milestone evening for forward Dominik Shine, who picked up his 1st NHL point with a helper on Larkin's 1st period goal.
It means the world. We wanted to get a good start, so I was pumped to be on the ice for the first one (goal) and to get a point is awesome. We started a little slow but Larks buried that one and we kind of rolled from there. We fought them off the rest of the way. It's a tough place to play.
Speaking of feeling good, it was the feeling expressed by Talbot after his picked up his 4th straight victory.
It gives us a lot of confidence. We can win 2-1 games, 1-0 games, 5-2 games, we're winning in a whole lot of different ways, and that's what good teams do this time of year. We're playing as good as anybody in the league right now, so we're feeling pretty good.
The Red Wings are now halfway through their 4-game road trip, which continues tonight with a game against the new-look Vancouver Canucks followed by another game against the Seattle Kraken before returning home.
