ESPN Discusses Red Wings' NHL Trade Deadline Plans Involving These Several Assets

They discussed the organizations plans and here's what they have to say regarding Detroit:

The Detroit Red Wings are optimistic adders, with a cap space of $7.84 million.

The team's players and picks in play include: Amadeus Lombardi, Alex Lyon, Carter Mazur, Jed Petry and Vladimir Tarasenko.

With the playoffs on the rise, Detroit has impressively pushed their way into the picture.

General Manager, Steve Yzerman, has the opportunity to add a few key players at the trade deadline in order to increase their current standings. This move could drastically adjust their overall success in the playoffs.

Especially if Yzerman decides to strengthen the team's offensive and defensive lines.

Their GM could target players on expiring contracts, just like Jake Evans, or even some players who remain in term, like Ryan Strome or Connor Murphy.

Regardless of which player Yzerman brings on board, his strategy should be to see the Red Wings get better by March 7 and take advantage of their impressive surge.

Detroit has been waiting so long to be in this position again, it would behoove Yzerman to give his players confidence in their ability to stay in the hunt through April.
