The red-hot Detroit Red Wings host the San Jose Sharks in what will be Jake Walman's first appearance back in Detroit since the stunning summer trade to the Sharks.
The Detroit Red Wings are on a heater right now, having won 7-straight games for the 1st time since 2011-12 and putting themselves right back in the mix for a postseason spot.
It's especially significant considering the position the team was in when Todd McLellan assumed the head coaching responsibilities after general manager Steve Yzerman parted ways with former head coach Derek Lalonde.
Tonight, the Red Wings host the San Jose Sharks at Little Caesars Arena (7:00 PM, FanDuel Sports Detroit, 97.1 The Ticket).
Tonight also marks the 1st time that now-former Red Wings defenseman Jake Walman will play in Detroit since the stunning summer trade that sent him to the Sharks along with a 2nd round draft pick in exchange for future considerations, aka nothing.
Before the Sharks departed for Detroit on Monday, Walman explained that he'll be happy to return to a place where he forged some good memories.
It'll be nice to be in a familiar place, and a lot of good memories will probably be flowing. I'm sure it'll be a happy time and a lot of smiles for me, seeing guys I know, seeing people from the city that I know.
Can't change what happened in the past, but take the positives from it. I'm really working towards building myself as a piece here. That's the biggest thing, building with this team. There's so much excitement coming in the near future, and I'm just excited to be a part of it.
