Former Red Wings rival arrested and charged with DUI
Former Nashville Predators forward Martin Erat has been arrested and charged with driving under the influence as well as leaving the scene of a crash.
During their days in the Western Conference, the Detroit Red Wings had several notable battles with the Nashville Predators as Central Division foes, including three different postseason matchups.
But one top former member of the Predators has been arrested after a series of terrible personal choices.
Martin Erat, who played 11 years for the Predators, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence as well as leaving the scene of the accident. Thankfully, no injuures were reported.
The 43 year old former player was later released on a US $30,000 bond.

According to Nolensville police, calls began coming in just before 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon. Multiple callers reported a blue Tesla driving «recklessly» around Nolensville Road and Brittain Lane. However, when officers responded to the area, they did not find the Tesla.
At around 3:25 p.m., Nolensville police received another call: a blue Tesla had just been involved in a hit-and-run crash with a white Cadillac Escalade in a nearby subdivision.
Erat committed an egregious turnover in the 2010 postseason against the Chicago Blackhawks late in the 3rd period in Game 5; Nashville had the lead, but Erat's turnover directly set up now-current Red Wings forward Patrick Kane's game-tying goal.
Following his playing career, which ended in 2019, Erat was the director of hockey and player development for the Predators.
He was infamously traded in what later turned out to be a lopsided deal, being sent to the Washington Capitals in exchange for then relatively unknown prospect Filip Forsberg; Erat failed to make an impact with the Capitals, while Forsberg has gone on to be one of the top players in Nashville.
