The Boston Bruins, a top divisional foe of the Detroit Red Wings in the Atlantic, could actually be a seller at the Trade Deadline for the 1st time in years!

The Boston Bruins have managed to remain competitive and qualify for the postseason (other than a lone appearance outside of the playoffs in 2015) every year since 2008.

They won a lone Stanley Cup in 2011 with an additional pair of trips to the Final in which they fell short. But could this divisional foe of the Detroit Red Wings become sellers at the Trade Deadline for the 1st time in recent memory?

Following the 4 Nations Faceoff break, the Trade Deadline is just over 2 weeks away when the schedule picks back up. Per NHL analyst Chris Johnston on TSN's 'Overdrive', the Bruins could become sellers at the Deadline.

I think a big one for me is Boston, because I really think that they could go down the road where, potentially, they're looking at being even, somewhat of a selling team.

Bruins captain Brad Marchand, who has been with the club since their Cup-winning year of 2010-11, is approaching unrestricted free agency and doesn't have a contact in place for next year.

Johnston said that a deal that would send Marchand away from the Bruins isn't something that can be definitively ruled out.

At this point, I have no reason to believe that they're going to do that, but I don't think it can be entirely ruled out.

If the Bruins did in fact part ways with Marchand, it would signal the end of an era of Boston Hockey and could also kickstart a rebuilding process with goal-scoring forward David Pastrnak the focal point of the franchise.
