The Red Wings have a pool of prospects to choose from with the NHL draft lottery coming up and once they have the players they need to make changes to their agenda there will be a list of undrafted reserve players.

These reserve list players will be pursuing their expansion avenue in different leagues and teams around the globe including the National League, NCAA, Hockey Allsvenskan, SHL, DEL, USHL and the KHL.
In the National League, the Red Wings have Van Pottelberghe a goaltender who has been with the National League since 2016 and has signed a contract to stay with HC Lugano until 2026-27. The Red Wings have not expressed any interest so far in acquiring the goaltender this coming season.
In the NCAA, the Red Wings have 14 prospects. The NCAA is where the majority of their prospects are at the moment. C Ryan O'Reilly, is one of the 14 players in the NCAA and although it has been said that he will not likely play for the Red Wings, he will be playing with Providence for the fifth year in a row. LHD Cooper Moore is another one of the fourteen players in the NCAA and his draft rights will come to an end on August 15th which means he will be looking into the free agency pool next season. LHD Kyle Aucoin, is in his senior year and will be stepping up his game on the ice with Harvard. LW Chase Bradley, will be playing as offense in Connecticut and will be able to provide veteran wisdom on the ice to his team. RW Kienan Draper, will be on the ice with Michigan for his third year in a row. RW Sam Stange also has a contract expiring on the 15th of august which means he will also have another go at trying to be drafted from the free agency next season. C Red Savage will be a great candidate next offseason as he continues to develop and grow in Miami. C Brennan Ali will be playing versus many Red Wings prospects this coming season in the Big Ten. LW Dylan James will be working on his offensive game with North Dakota. F Owen Mehlenbacher is another player who will playing in the Big Ten and is looking to improve before that time. G Trey Augustine will be playing with the Spartans again and after all his achievements last season, all eyes will be on him this season. LHD Brady Cleveland will be developing his abilities in the NCHC this season. LHD Larry Keenan will be training this season in UMass. RD Jack Phelan will play with the badgers this season as will other Red Wings prospects.
As the rest of the prospects play and develop in other endeavors, the Red Wings have plenty of options for the coming off seasons and it is clear that all the prospects will be busy practicing the game as they embark on the next chapters of their lives.
