Chicago Blackhawks former captain Jonathan Toews issues statement on his NHL comeback after healing journey, and suddenly the Detroit Red Wings are the ideal fit

The Chicago Blackhawks' former captain Jonathan Toews revealed details on his NHL comeback in November, following by a revealed healing journey in India that 'healed' his injuries.
Toews was last on the ice in the 2022-23 season, where he tallied up 15 goals and 16 assists for 31 points in 53 games played before taking a large amount of time away.
It seemed impossible to predict a Jonathan Toews NHL comeback, and now it's in full force.
The 37-year old NHL veteran has resumed skating on the ice in preparation for a new contract and organization this summer, and he's certain to be making a return.
"I'm not satisfied the way things ended in Chicago," said Toews. "It's not about proving anything. It's just that there's something left in the tank and I want to explore that. I want to go have fun, have a blast, play with passion. But at the same time, I still have some high-level hockey left. I want to be able to step away from the game having said that I've given it my all. And I still think there's something left to give."

Detroit Red Wings in on Jonathan Toews' NHL comeback

The 37-year old three-time Stanley Cup Champion could be a valuable asset for several teams who are in dire need of an elite center, including the Detroit Red Wings.
Toews has tallied up 883 points in over 1,000 career NHL games before taking a step away from the game, and it was all by playing alongside current Red Wings forward Patrick Kane.
Jonathan Toews had 354 goals, 488 assists and a plus-minus of +142 in 1,014 games with Patrick Kane in his career.

With Toews being out of the game for quite some time, his camps salary ask in negotiations surely will not be high as there's a risk factor to it.
General manager Steve Yzerman should attempt to break Blackhawks fans' hearts once again, by stealing one of their all-time greats at an affordable price.
For a team with a long playoff drought, what's the risk in acquiring a longtime veteran who dominated in the postseason during his career?
