No. 1: Terry Sawchuck
In 14 seasons with the Red Wings, he participated in 12 as a starter. With 351 wins, he qualifies as a top goalie of all time for Detroit which is the most in the franchise history. He had 85 shutouts trailing being Martin Brodeur who has the most of all time. He has 3 Stanley Cup under his belt including an undefeated playoff run in 1952.
No. 2: Chris Osgood
In the most recent years, Osgood was the face of the Wings in terms of goal tending. He won 317 games in his 14 seasons in Hockeytown. He was part of the Wings' incredible 25 year playoff run which was historic. He won 3 Stanley Cup (1997-1998-2007), and he even scored a goal! He was able to adapt his game from an unorthodox stand-up goalie to the butterfly style and was able to re-invented himself.
No. 3 Harry Lumley
This one might shock some, but during the 40's he was the main man. He started at the age of 17 years which was the youngest goalie to start in the NHL. He won the Stanley Cup in 1950 and the Vezina Trophy in the 1953-1954 season.
Let's not forget some honorable mentions such as Hasek, Vernon, Glenn Hall and Normie Smith.
