The Detroit Red Wings' annual Traverse City Prospects Tournament is approaching, as is the training camp.

This year, the event will feature only the Red Wings and Dallas Stars. The teams will face off twice over the weekend of September 14. Despite the limited participation, the tournament offers a chance to watch key prospects and invitees as they gear up for the 2024-25 season.
One standout is 2024 first-round pick Michael Brandsegg-Nygård, who will debut in a Red Wings uniform. Known for his two-way game, the Norwegian forward has already impressed in international play. Ondrej Becher, a 2024 third-round pick, is another intriguing player. Coming off a breakout season in the WHL, he could earn an entry-level contract with a strong performance.
On defense, Shai Buium is worth watching. After three successful seasons at the University of Denver, the 2021 second-round pick will likely play a key role for Grand Rapids this season. Also making his North American debut is Czech forward Jakub Rychlovský, who brings strong playmaking abilities.
While this year's tournament is smaller, it marks an exciting start to the season and a chance to see the future of the Red Wings in action.
