NHL insider Elliotte Friedman has signaled that players all across the NHL are on high alert for potential trades, even during the 4 Nations Faceoff.
There are several NHL players who had better not get too comfortable in their current surroundings, according to top insider Elliotte Friedman.
Friedman even said that he's had at least one player reach out to him and explain that he feels a trade is in the works, even as the NHL has gone on break for the 4 Nations Faceoff.
I guess some players have been told, I don't know if by their teams or their agents or who it is, but they think there is gonna be action.
There is no freeze on trades during the 4 Nations Faceoff in which Canadien, American, Swedish and Finnish players face off against one another.
Vladimir Tarasenko has been suggested as a trade candidate for the Red Wings
One notable player on the Detroit Red Wings that could soon be on the move is Vladimir Tarasenko, who signed a 2-year contract with the team over the summer but has only produced 7 goals.
Friedman described Tarasenko as a "square peg in a round hole" on the Red Wings, and that it hasn't been a good fit.
It looks as though Tarasenko, along with a few unnamed other NHL players, could soon be on the move.
