Detroit Red Wings prospect Nate Danielson has been getting under the skin of his opposition while playing with the Grand Rapids Griffins.

It's not going to be very long before fans of the Detroit Red Wings get their 1st look at prospect Nate Danielson, who continues his development with the Grand Rapids Griffins.

He's shown a feistiness to his game that will excite fans, as demonstrated by a recent game in the AHL in which he gets under the skin of his opposition.

Danielson, Detroit's 1st overall pick in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft, has 22 points (4G, 18A) in 44 games with the Griffins this year.

Red Wings general manager Steve Yzerman doesn't have a timeline for Nate Danielson's development

Before this year, Red Wings GM Steve Yzerman explained that he didn't have an exact timeline for when young players like Nate Danielson and Carter Mazur could make their NHL debuts.

They're going to have to really take a step and that's possible if they have a good summer and preseason. We anticipate most of those kids at least starting in [Grand Rapids], but I don't have a hard and fast guideline.

«If we're in camp and they look like they're going to play, we'll find a spot for them.

Speaking of young players, Marco Kasper - who began this year with Grand Rapids - was re-called by the Red Wings and has since remained with the club and doesn't appear to be going anywhere anytime soon.

Defensemen Simon Edvinsson has earned a permanent spot in the lineup, while young Albert Johansson was inserted as a replacement for the injured Jeff Petry and has impressed.
