The Red Wings have 3 players draft right that are set to expire as of June 1st if they are not signed to entry level deals.

Goaltender Jan Bednar, defenseman Theodor Niederbach and forward Tnias Mathurin will all become free agents if they are not signed.

The Red Wings' draft rights to Jan Bednar, Theodor Niederbach and Tnias Mathurin expire June 1 if Detroit doesn't sign them to an entry-level contract -Earegood

Bednar is under an AHL contract and played most of the season in the ECHL but if he is not signed, he will be an unrestricted free agents as of June 1st.

Niederbach just played his last year in the OHL where he was a shutdown defenseman but due to Covid and injuries has not played very much since being drafted in 2022.

Mathurin on the other hand has been playing in the SHL but has not flourished into the player most analysts thought he would be in his draft year which is why the Wings have yet to sign him.

As all 3 of these players are still unsigned 2 days before the deadline, it is unlikely the Wings offer them deals.
