The Detroit Red Wings snatched victory from the jaws of defeat on Thursday night thanks to a key contribution from Jonatan Berggren, and he's revealing his secret weapon!

Just when it seemed like the Detroit Red Wings were heading for another regulation setback, forward Jonatan Berggren sprang to the rescue by scoring the game-tying goal with 4:46 left in regulation against the New York Islanders.

That set the stage for some late-game heroics from Lucas Raymond, who sniped a shot past the glove of goaltender Ilya Sorokin with 52 seconds left; it stood up as the game-winner.

Following practice at Little Caesars Arena on Friday, Berggren revealed that not only has he returned to a popular pre-game routine, but a a new pre-game meal has fueled his recent success which includes three goals in the last five games.

Berggren has gone back to playing sewer ball (a popular game involving kicking around a soccer ball in a group circle by with the goal of keeping it in the air) as well as eating pre-game pancakes

I did it last year. I don't know why I quit but I started now and I will continue.

Me and Marco (Kasper) in the pregame, I tried pancakes before the Pittsburgh game (on Nov. 13) and I scored, so I'll stick to that.

I had a rough start, points-wise, but I'm feeling like my overall game was pretty good, so I was always confident the goals would probably come if I keep doing the right stuff.

After going scoreless in his first 14 games, Berggren scored his first goal of the year in Detroit's victory over the Penguins earlier this month on November 13, and followed that up with another goal against the Ducks two nights later.

He now has 20 goals in 98 NHL games.
