Detroit Red Wings defensemen, Moritz Seider, gets honest with reporters following 5-2 loss against Columbus Blue Jackets.

Thursday night the Red Wings had undergone a horrific loss against the Blue Jackets, prompting frustration throughout the organization.
Following head coach Todd McLellan calling out captain Dylan Larkin, Seider expressed his own thoughts on the defeat.
«We got out-competed,»
stated Seider.
«That's a hard one to swallow, but we have a great chance to bounce back and make up for it. We know they're a good team.»

Detroit finds itself in a very familiar position.
Around this time last year, the team was in a playoff race before they suffered a seven-game losing streak.
This derailed any hopes they had to compete in the playoffs.
Although Detroit only have a 1-game losing streak, this loss seemingly hit Moritz close to home, as he understands the stakes and knows the importance of avoiding a similar collapse to what they had during the 2023/24 NHL season.
With the Stadium Series against the Columbus Blue Jackets nearing and the playoffs being right around the corner, Detroit needs to find consistency.
The season has hit the halfway mark and with only 23 games left, every point is crucial.
Detroit is chasing its first playoff appearance in nine years, and the pressure is mounting.
If the team can learn from past mistakes and step up when it matters most, the Red Wings could find themselves in an exciting postseason push.
