Red Wings prospect Elmer Soderblom just finished his second season in North America and first full year in the AHL.

Last season, Soderblom struggled a bit more as he was up and down from the NHL and could not seem to get used to the North American game. In a recent interview, the young forward spoke how he grew a lot this season and got more used to the game.

«I feel way more comfortable,» Soderblom recently told DetroitRedWings.com. «It's a learning process to switch from the big surface in Europe to the ice as well as the style of play here. I'm adjusting pretty well, getting better. I'm also learning to play a different type of game. It feels like it's getting better.»

The progression showed on the ice as Soderblom put up 29 points in 61 games for the Griffins this season.

While these are not exceptional numbers, the young forward will continue to improve and will likely have an even better year next season.
