The biggest surprise is 7th rounder Emmitt Finnie who had an unbelivable season in the WHL and was rewarded with an entry level deal. Finnie put up 59 points in 62 games this season after only putting up 35 in his draft year.
The final prospect that surpassed expectations this year is defenseman Antti Tuomisto who had 17 points in 50 games with the Griffins this season. Tuomisto was a shut down D for the Griffins and was on their top pairing with Edvinsson showing that he will likely see the NHL soon.
