Shocking statement regarding the Chicago Blackhawks for Patrick Kane
Former Blackhawks superstar Patrick Kane recently explained to the media why he chose to remain with the Detroit Red Wings, raising some eyebrows.
Kane, who signed a one-year extension, credited Red Wings broadcaster Ken Daniels as his reason for staying.
"Looking back at some of the moments (last season) and some of the calls that Ken Daniels had, I can watch those clips for the rest of my life"
Kane said. "The calls he had on some of the goals I scored, those are moments that give you chills. You want to create more of those."
Daniels, the voice of the Red Wings since 1997, has captured many great moments for fans and players. Kane's journey since leaving the Blackhawks included a stint with the New York Rangers and hip resurfacing surgery in 2023. Ahead of schedule, he returned to the NHL, choosing the Red Wings partly due to former Blackhawks teammate Alex DeBrincat and the embrace from Detroit fans.
Kane's near playoff push with the Red Wings last season was another factor in his decision. The Red Wings aim to take another step forward next season with Kane on board.
