Cutter Gauthier makes another mistake off-ice
Cutter Gauthier, recently acquired by the Anaheim Ducks from the Philadelphia Flyers, is facing backlash over a comment about his favorite Starbucks order.
Gauthier, who made his NHL debut with an assist in a 4-1 win over the Golden Knights, participated in a fan Q&A on the Ducks' social media.
When asked about his go-to Starbucks order, he mentioned his love for a caramel macchiato, adding,
"Oh, I'm a chick when it comes to that kind of stuff."
This remark drew criticism for being misogynistic, with a former Starbucks barista pointing out that caramel macchiatos are popular among all genders. Fans also questioned the Ducks labelling his order as "tricky."
While Gauthier likely intended to poke fun at himself, the comment has been interpreted as derogatory towards women's preferences, sparking controversy.
